01The Bible
We believe the Holy Scriptures, Old and New Testament, are the inspired Word of God and our final authority for faith, teaching and conduct. We add nothing to what God has revealed in them, and take nothing away.
- Psalm 119:105
02God
We believe in one true God, eternal, creator and sustainer of all that exists, who subsists in three Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Not three gods, nor three names for the same Person, but one God in three distinct Persons of the same essence.
03Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the one and only true God: the eternal Word made flesh, true God and true man. Born of the virgin Mary, He lived without sin, died on the cross for our sins, rose on the third day and reigns as Lord over all things.
04The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is God, convicts the world of sin, gives new life to those who believe, dwells in the believer, guides them into truth and produces in them the fruit that pleases God.
05Humanity and sin
We believe God created human beings in His image, with dignity and purpose, and that sin separated us from Him. No one can save themselves by effort, goodness or religion.
06Salvation
We believe salvation is a gift of God by grace, through faith in Jesus Christ, and not a reward for works. Whoever repents and believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins and eternal life.
07The church
We believe the church is the body of Christ, made up of all who have believed in Him. It exists to worship God, teach His Word, care for its own and proclaim the Gospel — and none of those things was designed to be done alone.
08Baptism and the Lord’s Supper
We believe baptism is the step of obedience taken by someone who has already believed: it does not save in itself, but publicly testifies to a faith that already exists. We celebrate the Lord’s Supper in remembrance of His death and resurrection, until He comes.
09Prayer
We believe God hears and answers prayer, that He commands us to pray for one another, and that prayer is not a last resort but the ordinary way a child speaks to their Father.
10The rapture of the church
We believe Jesus Christ will come for His own before the great tribulation: the dead in Christ will rise first, and those who are alive will be changed and caught up to meet the Lord in the air. It is the blessed hope of the church, and it rests not on being spared everyday trouble but on the fact that God has not appointed us to wrath.
11The great tribulation
We believe that after the rapture a seven-year time of judgement will come upon the earth — the last week announced to the prophet Daniel, which Scripture calls the great tribulation and the time of Jacob’s trouble. It is not a matter of dates or calculations: it is a warning that calls us to live ready and to proclaim the Gospel while there is time.
12The resurrection and the return of Christ in glory
We believe Jesus Christ will return visibly and in power to reign, and that there will be a resurrection for all: some to eternal life with Him and others to judgement. No one knows the day or the hour, and so what Scripture asks of us is not speculation but watchfulness.
13The mission to make disciples
We believe the church was entrusted with proclaiming the Gospel and making disciples who will in turn teach others. That is why we teach, and why we teach in a way that can be taught again.
